English Mastery for Academic Excellence is a carefully structured course designed to strengthen students’ communication, reading, and writing skills in preparation for both academic success and everyday expression. It guides learners through the essentials of English grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, and composition while nurturing creativity and confidence in oral communication.
This course bridges the gap between classroom learning and practical usage. Students will learn how to construct correct sentences, analyze texts effectively, expand their vocabulary, and express ideas clearly in both speech and writing. The lessons combine explanation, examples, guided exercises, and interactive activities suitable for learners from upper primary to junior high levels.
Through a progression of skill-based modules, learners develop from mastering grammar and reading comprehension to producing well-structured essays and speaking confidently in public. The course also provides targeted preparation for the BECE English Examination, including practice tests, writing drills, and strategies for answering comprehension and grammar questions.

- Grammar Essentials and Common ErrorsThis module lays the foundation for mastering English grammar. It helps learners understand the structure of language and how words function together to form meaningful sentences. Students will explore the eight parts of speech, learn how to construct grammatically correct sentences, and identify and correct common mistakes in their writing. Through guided lessons, examples, and interactive activities, learners will gain confidence in expressing themselves clearly and accurately. By the end of this module, students should be able to identify main ideas, understand context and vocabulary, make inferences, recognize tone and theme, and respond to different types of comprehension questions with confidence. Reading comprehension is more than just reading words—it is about understanding meaning, interpreting ideas, and connecting what is read to prior knowledge. This module introduces key strategies that help students approach any passage with clarity and purpose. Through guided lessons and practical exercises, learners will master the art of reading for understanding and accuracy.6

- Oral Expression and Public SpeakingThis lesson will help students develop confidence, fluency, and clarity in spoken English through structured speaking activities, listening exercises, and public presentation practice. This module focuses on both the skills (how to speak clearly and confidently) and the attitude (courage, expression, and respect for others) needed to become an effective communicator. Students will learn pronunciation, practice dialogues, deliver speeches, and take part in debates that build their verbal and listening skills. By the end of this module, learners will: • Speak confidently and clearly in front of others. • Use correct pronunciation, tone, and rhythm. • Listen attentively and respond appropriately. • Express opinions logically and respectfully. • Deliver speeches and participate effectively in debates and group discussions.6
